Hello lovely email friends. Millie and I can’t agree on a temperature. There used to be a small overlap of what we both consider comfortable, at the top of my range and the bottom of hers. I’m coming to realise, as we age, my range is going downwards and hers is rising. So she is usually to be found pressing herself to a radiator, and I’m usually outside. This is how you compromise with a cat.

  • 🇰🇷 Learn to Read Korean in 15 Minutes: Back when we could go places, I went to Seoul and was struck by how little I knew about South Korea. I rationalised this to myself with the excuse that I live on the other side of the world, and if someone from Asia came to Europe they could be forgiven for not knowing the cultural differences between, say, Turkey and Finland. But if we’re honest, I’d never even thought to look into it. If the only thing you know is your TV or smartphone was made there I urge you to dig in, starting with this quick-start cartoon guide to the language.

  • 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦 Who do we spend time with across our lifetime? In adolescence, we spend the most time with our parents, siblings and friends; in adulthood we spend more time with our co-workers, partners and children; and in later years we spend an increasing amount of time alone. This reveals the complex nature of social connections and their impact on our well-being.

  • 🌔 Orbit around the moon in Real Time: Seán Doran uses still images from NASA and JAXA to create stunning videos. For this latest work, he denoised, graded, repaired and retimed footage from the Kaguya Orbiter to give a four-hour moon orbit.

  • 🔊 The KLF Re-enactment Society is writing, perhaps rewriting, the history of the KLF as it continues to happen.
